Dashrath Meaning

At first, the Ring Rishi refused to perform the Yajna, but later on Shanta’s instructions, the Rig Rishi agreed to perform the Putreshthi Yajna for King Dasharatha. Shanta was the daughter of Dasharatha, whom Dasaratha left.

Dewasur Sangram

Once King Dasaratha participated in Dewasur Sangram at the behest of Indra. He was supported by his wife, Kaikeyi, in this war. Dashrath was unconscious in the war. Kaikeyi introduced him out of the battlefield when the king was unconscious, so Dasharatha was pleased and promised two boons. Kaikeyi then stated that when the time comes, he’ll ask. Later on, filling the ears of Manthara, Kaikeyi demanded the exile of Rama and the kingdom for Bharata.

Dasharathakarit Shani Stotra

It is said that King Dasharatha composed Shani Stotra.
