The gates of our soul are shut once our spirit becomes a new creation.
Our strongholds tell us which gates are open. If even one of them is unguarded and open, we are vulnerable to the enemies of our ancestors who try to take us down and establish their position. God warns that we must not allow Satan a place. The gates of arrogance, rebel or false convictions, or a lack of motivation, permit Satan to build a fortress that gives the enemy an area to build his base. We need to watch our gates. This includes focusing our attention on God’s Holy Spirit and protecting the gates and the doors to our body and soul.
Every person must make a conscious effort to break down and identify mental barriers and not let the enemy in our doors and gates. It is about removing strongholds and guarding gates and doors that permit the deceitful to enter and steer our direction in the wrong way. That is, the gate is the entry point into God’s presence and, by this, heaven. Christ represents the entrance point and the only way into heaven.
