What Is The Rapture In The Bible?

This idea that Jesus will come is known as the Rapture in the Bible, is prominently featured in a theology system known as premillennial dispensationalism. The Rapture is the belief that Jesus Christ will return initially to the church. Jesus will return, but not completely back to the earth. This is how it will happen: Jesus will come, and churches will then be lifted up to be with Jesus. But here’s where the problem lies that you’ll end up having two-second comings. It’s like having Jesus appearing at first to the church to Rapture the people away. 

Then, after a time of tribulation, Jesus comes again to do his second visit. The second portion of Jesus’ second appearing second coming 2. B, where Jesus comes together with the church in judgment to save the people who were also converted in a time of great suffering. But this isn’t exactly what the Bible declares regarding the Rapture.

According to what Paul states, he gives the kingdom over in the hands of his Father. This is the moment when Jesus will become by force the one he has always been by right, Lord of all.

The Rapture In The Bible? Explanation

This is Jesus’s prophecy of the coming of the Son of Man and the days of Noah. Let’s take a look together and ask some questions. It reads as follows as were the days of Noah, so will be the coming of the Son of Man. In the days before the flood, they were drinking and eating as they were getting married and giving their vows until the time Noah was able to enter Ark. They weren’t aware until the flood-hit and washed them completely. So will be the coming of the Son of Man.

Two men will then be on the field. One is taken away, and the other one is left. Two women are grinding at the mill. One is taken away, and the other one is left. Keep an eye on the clock because you don’t know the day that your Lord will be going to appear.

But be aware that if the housekeeper knew when and at what time in the evening the burglar was coming in, he would have been watching and wouldn’t allow his home to be destroyed. So, be prepared to face to know that the Son of Man is coming at a time that you do not anticipate.

So what is Jesus talking about? What is this passage all about. the first thing I want to say here, and this is very important, is to emphasize that although some Christians claim that Jesus is talking here about a secret rapture of true believers. 

Some people will be taken. They will disappear mysteriously if they believe in Jesus. Others will be quoted as left behind that is not what Jesus is referring to.. what Jesus is referring to in this passage is his second coming at the end time. He’s talking about the final judgment and not the secret Rapture of faithful believers.

Let me give you a few reasons why he’s referring to the final judgment. you can see it by looking at the context. First of all, even though the lectionary doesn’t contain it, this one just prior to the first line that are the times that followed Noah is the well-known verse. Where Jesus It is said that no one knows what time it is or the day. This verse refers to the time when earth and heaven will end, and nobody knows when it will happen, not only the Angels, only God knows.

Thus, the refers on the date or hour refers to the hour or day of the final judgment. That’s the first thing to consider in the context that refers to the final judgment. Second, Jesus’ allusion to the days of Noah shows you that this is about cosmic judgment. 

the judgment of the whole world because at the time of Noah, if you go back to Genesis chapter 6 through 9, what Genesis describes is a global flood where all of the wicked people in the whole world perish in the judgment of God and only a few people eight people are saved from the judgment of God. 

So what Jesus is doing is making a comparison just as in the days of Noah, many people were busy marrying and giving in marriage and eating and drinking and Not getting ready for global judgment of the flood. So – at the coming of the Son of Man, many people will be just consumed with the things of this world. 

TAll of the globe at the time of the flood. Hey, won’t be ready for the final judgment. They won’t be prepared in time for the Greek word, Parousia, that is, the arrival of Jesus Christ, the Son of Man when he will decide the world the same way God has judged us. 

The third point here and this is critical. If you examine it, you will see the moment Jesus declares that “one is taken. One is left, whether one man is taken in one man is left, or one woman is taken in one moment is left again if you think about the the the imagery of the flood as th background to what he was saying what happened here. 

Noah’s family was taken. Also, they were rescued from the wrath of the flood. And the rest of the people were left, but they weren’t left behind to live in the world and have time to repent or something like that they were left and in and since they were left out of the salvation and exposed to the flood and they perished in the judgment of God. 

So Jesus essentially getting in here is the separation of the righteous and the wicked that will take place at the final judgment. and if you want an analogy with this, you can look at the very next chapter in Matthew when the parable of the sheep of the goats Matthew 25 in which Jesus divides the righteous from the unrighteous Jesus is able to separate the sheep from goats. The righteous are taken to the eternal realm of His Father. In contrast, the goats go into the eternal fire of destruction prepared for the devil and his angels.

This is also the break in the final judgment. It’s not just a hidden rapture for those who are true believers. In actual truth, Jesus even himself declares that when he speaks of this, it be at Parousia the time of Jesus the Son of Man this is the second coming.

It’s not a secret rapture of true believers that word never occurs and then finally you all of this is very clear if you look at the ending of the passage is interesting because of the primary idea of the passage? It’s the sudden nature of the verdict. In other words, you don’t know exactly when the Son of Man is gonna come at the end of time. 

Son of Man. He uses a different couple of different images for this. He suggests you be alert because you don’t have any idea when the Lord will appear, and he advises you to stay awake. So it’s kind of like keeping vigil to the time of the Lord’s coming. But he also used the parable of the thief in the night. So he said if a householder had known what time in the night the thief was gonna break-in, he would have been ready, he would have stayed away. 

So you also need to stay up. You need to be awake. Keep an eye on the clock and be prepared for the Son of Man is coming at a time you did not think you would be able to anticipate. And that last verse ties it back to the earlier verse in Matthew 24 35 to 36, which says that the hour of heaven and earth passing away is unknown to anyone. 

So the whole context of this passage isn’t about a secret rapture. It’s about the final judgment it’s about the second Advent it’s about the piracy of Christ at the end of time. That’s a concise analysis here.

Where I go through some of the other problems with that view, but I just wanted to knock it out here because you need to see that the church begins the liturgical year of the Gospel of Matthew begins the first Sunday of Advent, not a passage about the Rapture it begins the first Sunday of Advent with a passage concerning the final Advent concerning the second appearance of Christ at the close of the age.

This is already going to give us a clue as to what the season of Advent is going to be about. It’s about preparing us, not only for the coming of Christ at Christmas time, but also to prepare us for his final appearance and the final Advent that Christ will celebrate at the close of the world.

Why Is The Rapture Not Mentioned In The Bible?

What is the Rapture? Why is there a rapture, and when is the Rapture again? What exactly is the Rapture? Why is there a rapture, and when is the Rapture? 

You might be surprised to know that more than half of Americans out there believe there will be a rapture of the church. Newsweek did a poll that revealed 55% of Americans believe the faithful will be taken up to heaven in the Rapture. 

So what exactly is this event. Mark Hitchcock, in his book, could the Rapture happen today, given I think an excellent definition of the event, let me read his definition quote. 

Rapture Definition

The Rapture of the church is that future event when Jesus Christ will descend from heaven to resurrect the bodies of departed believers and to transform and translate the bodies of living believers immediately into his glorious presence a minimum in a moment of time and then escort them to live in heaven with him forever.

Let me summarize it and simplify it the Rapture is when Christ descends from heaven calls all of those who have already died in the Lord to heaven with him in new resurrected bodies. 

And then we join them in the air for this great time of reunion, now the critics of the Rapture would say you will not find the teaching of the Rapture in the Bible, you won’t even find the word Rapture in the Bible well I want to refute that right now. 

Because I think that is completely wrong as to the use of the word Rapture in the Bible, I could also add that you don’t find the word Trinity in the Bible, nor do you find the word Bible in the Bible. 

Now that doesn’t make them any less true these are just words that we use to describe the triune nature of God, the scripture that we call the Bible. 

The Word Rapture Cames From Greek Word Harpazo

The fact of the matter is that the word used for Rapture is the greek word Harpazo. Harpazo is the Latin translation of Heart Pazzo is rapturous. The English word Rapture is the popular word for the event used in the Bible known as the Harpazo. What is the Harpazo? The literal definition means to take forcibly to snatch or to be Cata.

1st Thessalonians 4:16 2:18

This is the word that Paul uses in 1st Thessalonians 4:16 2:18 he says the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout with the voice of the archangel and the trumpet of God the dead in Christ shall rise first those who are alive into me meaning will be Cata up Greek word Harpazo together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air and thus we will always be with the Lord, so that’s what the Rapture is it’s being caught up, snatched away taken by force.
